Hello does anyone know where to purchase actual reptile lamp safety guards for inside enclosures. I build my own but they arent as nice as the ones i see online. Wondering if this is a common product to purchase.

If safety in heating is a concern, then I would recommend a Pro-Products heat panel.

Got mine of eBay, but it does seem that they are difficult to get on your side of the pond.

I agree with this, from what I have read heat panels are the way to go now

All my new vivs are running radiant heat panels. No need to cage these either as they don't get silly hot, you can place your hand on them. They give fantastic ambient temps too.

I've never been able to find them in the states. Here's a decent vid on how to make them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNPr598byog
I've also seen wire mesh cans and pencil holders at Staples and other office stores that might work if the dimensions match.
But...I would also recommend the RHP instead if at all possible.

Careful using office equipment as guards if you are using ceramic bulbs. I've used these guys in the past, they may ship to the US Custom Guards Ltd - Heat and Light Guards for Reptile & Vivarium Environments (http://www.customguards.co.uk)
Terrariums for sale (http://livingstonlizardlounge.com/6578.html) these guys have them. $15 just gotta check if they're in stock.
