Ok so there's a few things I wanna address here...
1) this post is regarding my previous on the columbian rainbow boa from the pet store
2) I really want to rescue it from the pet store but I move at the end of the summer back to Kentucky for college. I would take it with me but a) my roommate is terrified of snakes and b) my dorms don't allow them anyways...so with that being said is anyone interested in buying it from me once August comes?
3) how would I go about shipping a snake? If anyone has experience can you explain how to do so?

You don't need to be interested in buying to post info on the shipping either so feel free to write about either 2 or 3

Thanks a lot in advance !

If you do end up purchasing the snake, I may be interested of buying it, depending on price, shipping, etc. :) keep me in mind.

Well I'm not looking to make money...how much do they normally go for? The pet store is selling it for 60 or 70. I'm buying it a plastic tub cage and already have a thermostat from previous snakes owned. So if someone else pitches in on how shipping works we can talk more into detail as well

Shipping can be kinda expensive, you will need to find a small bag that can be tied up like a pillow case, a small box and within that box it needs to be lined with Styrofoam and a heat pack in there to keep the snake warm, my retic that just came from California was 75 dollars to ship overnight through fed ex

You wont "rescue" snakes from a pet store, f you buy it they will just put another in its place, if it is being kept in poor condition the only way to stop it being mistreated is education of the pet store staff either by you or the authorities.

i know its a shame. ive been visiting this petstore for a while now just because my niece and nephew love going to see the dogs and bunnies. They usually only sell ball pythons milk/corn snakes. So my concern for the snakes wasnt as much because those arent usually high humidity snakes. But then they brought this one in and said it was the only one they were able to get from the clutch....they have an over cage light to keep the temperature at whatever they have it....but as far as humidity they only have one small bowl of water. Just knowing how humidity works, a screened top enclosure with a heat light and a small bowl of water isnt doing the trick....thats why im tempted to "save" it.

plus its aggressiveness shows how discomforting and stressful his life is :( literally when the cage opens as soon as ur hand is in he strikes 4 times in a matter of a few seconds.

Well kudos to you if you do decide to get him but I wouldn't get him on the hopes of being able to re home him, what happens if you can't?

Shipyourreptiles.com

reptilesexpress.com

Go to these sites. They are certified reptile shippers. They sell shipping supplies and you can create a shipping label there. Shipping is real easy, but if you don't know how to do it, there are guides on each site that take you through the steps.

1)You need a shipping box lined with styrofoam(usually 3/4 to 1/2" thick),

2)as mentioned by someone else you need either a cloth bag or a container that can be secured with a zip tie or tape depending on what you use.

3)Then you need to figure out what temps the animal will be traveling in and either use or omit a heatpack/icepack depending on the weather.

4) create and buy a shipping label from one of those sites and after you're done, either drop it off at a local fedex center or have fedex come pick up it up.
