My pure kalatoas

I got my pair of kalatoas from Travis Kubes last fall. Travis is known for having the best pure kalatoa in the market, aswell as some of the best high % SD morphs. He was my first choice, and I highly recommend him to everyone seriously looking. When I called him he only had 2 females and no males, but he told me he had sold some to a friend and he'd give him a call. His friend had the male and I placed my order. I got my female directly from Travis. She was a perfect little python, soooo much smaller then my jamp. I got the male a couple weeks later from Travis's friends. He has a minor knob tail(ive had issues with getting males for some reason) and is sadly going to be traded back to Travis for a perfect animal(as I will be breeding them) when they hatch and are ready to go. I might pay in a bit more and get an anery.

My female came to me at about 18 inchs long and super tiny. She hatched on 6/23/13 and I got her in on Halloween. She's now around 3.5 feet long and still very small, definitly living up to the super dwarf reputation. Travis told me they typically top out at 7 feet. She doesn't have the insane feeding response the jamps have, but still respectable. She's very, very fast and doesn't stop moving for a while when you first get her out. Never hinted that she might bite. They are the perfect and most realistic retic for most people. And I'm sure these are going to be seen more and more in the coming years.

My male is much flightier then my female. He calms down after a little while, and has never shown the slightest sign of aggression, but is always on the move. he is about a month older then my female, but is about 6 inchs shorter then her and a lot smaller. He had issues with pushing at first, but got over it. His silver sides are more purple when he fires up. I've grown really attached to this little guy and I'm really not looking forward to him going back.

My brother has her clutchmate and I've got a female from her dad to a different mom. Dunno if Travis told you but she's ph anery. I wanted full het anery otherwise I would have a clutchmate as well. Very nice bitty retics.

I knew the male was ph anery but he didnt mention the female, awesome. Now I don't think I have a choice but to out money ontop of the trade back and get an anery male.

Are there any indicators for het aneries?

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to get an anery kalatoa male, any chance you know what Travis usually charges for the pure anery males? My jamp pair is also ph anery. I'm even more excited for my first retic breeding.

Visual aneries are quite a bit more. Been a while since I last looked but I think they were still around $1200-1500. My 100% het was $700ish IIRC.

Haha, that's funny I just left you a message in Aaroncg's thread. Males seem to stay in the 4.5-6.5 foot range and go for $350. The male I have is on the same feeding schedule as my female and he's tiny compared to her. And he was bigger when I got them. He's about 3 feet at 1 year old as opposed to 7-10 foot a mainland would be.

Oh wow, thats not too bad at all. I think you may have given me something to look into one day down the road, haha.;) $350 is a little more than I'd usually spend on a snake but I think it'd be well worth it for one of these guys.. Just not the right timing right now :D

The good thing for you, if its going to be a few years, is they should be a little more available(I should even have some hatchlings in about 3 years). Kalatoas are definitely the most captive bred of all the dwarves(and SD) in the states.

Not a chance on a visual anery. I got my het from Travis. All of my SD stuff has been from him. My 1.1 100% SD and my 0.1 Platty het anery 75% superjamp are all from him as is my brothers 1.0 100% SD ph anery.
