Hey, I go my sav. He seems to hide a lot barely comes out to bask I'm assuming it's because was new but I have had him three days now an he has only ate three crickets when he did eat the three he really wanted it but today doesn't seem to want anything again or care just sleeps in his hole. Temps are good basking of 130 and 122. Cool end goes to 78 inside his hide 90 and 95

He's probably scared, I'd put some food in there and wouldn't worry about it, when there new and small they won't readily eat in front of you, give it some time and eventually he won't see you as a threat

I hope so the not eating part worries me a bit. So I have put a few crickets an a container and laid it in well see how it goes for when I get home from work.

Might as well just dump them in there, cricket's will jump right out of that bowl, if you want to monitor if he's eating I'd put meal worms in there instead :D

its early days, he'll eat soon enough, leave him well alone until he starts eating, dont poke around in his enclosure except to change water and feed, and definitely dont handle or poke around in his burrows/hides, it might take a few days, it might take a few weeks, depends on the individual Sav, once he has a little confidence he'll be flying around the enclosure eating crickets with an apatite you wont believe :)
in the meantime, check out Infernalis' website: Correct Savannah Monitor Care (http://savannahmonitor.co/)

They haven't jumped out so far. He won't touch meal worms apparently he was only fed crickets and won't eat anything else

Give it time, soon enough he'll eat anything you throw at him :D

I have his cork tube hide right under his basking area should I move it so he doesn't sit in it all day. He doesn't even come out to eat.

I wouldn't move anything, I would cover up all viewable areas where he can see out, make it so he can't even see you and only go in to change water and feed, if you start moving things around it might make him feel even less secure

you should always have at least 2 hides for a reptile, one in the cool area, one in the warm area - for a Sav that is in addition to a substrate he can burrow into

get some earth worms, savannah monitors love earth worms. Littleffot and Cera could never get enough of them, and still to this day will dive all over them.

I have three hides hot middle cool.
Right now I hve him soaking. Should I try a pinky? It's almost like he's tired all the time. He was awake an looked good when I got him but he closes his eyes a lot how long should he go without eating till it's a big issue

as was said earlier, you need to give him time to settle in, that means not handling him, including not taking him out to soak, its just stressing him out more
leave him alone - he needs time, and unless you can find a little patience, he will suffer with your attempts to over-care for him
sure give him a pinky if you like, but dont try to force it on him, just leave it in the enclosure for him to find when he is ready
