Parents found this baby snake in the yard. Any clue what it might be?

Dekay's Brown Snake. Also, not a baby. They're usually less than a foot long as adults.

Yep, Dekay's. Unless you're in Texas, then it's a Texas Brown Snake. Because in Texas we name everything after Texas. It is absolutely harmless :( Unless you happen to be an insect.

Not sure if it's just the way the twigs are or did this little guy get hit with a weed Wacker or something?
