I'm looking into a getting a custom arboreal viv for my young freckled monitor, but I wish to do a live planted, bio active setup.. I've never done one but want it for this little guy, and if it goes well I'll do similar for my geckos.

What plants would hold up to a dwarf monitor? Large plants capable of them climbing would be a bonus :)

If anyone has ideas could you post a pic so I can see a visual example, thanks.

Plants large enough to climb on would probably be too large for the cage. How big is it going to be?

2ft but half of that is tail and they're quite slender as a species in general.. :-/

Pothos plants are awesome. Anything you can get a lowes that's in the house plant area should work.

Depending on height of cage you might be able to fit a small palm tree

That's a great question... I also would love to figure out what would work / grow with the reptile lights...
