Scorpions are an animal that I have always wanted to keep and i have the possibility of adopting two adults.
They are male and female and housed together.
I have done a lot of reading about the care and would appreciate any help from those of you who already keep them.
I understand that Emperors are a good starting point and tend to be docile?
I would not intend to handle them but is a pair of forceps best to pick them up with just below the sting?
I have found almost equal opinion as to whether they should be kept singularly or socially?
Is a decent layer of repti bark mixed with some moss a good substrate?
Temp range 77-95f with 70% humidity?
Thanks for any help! :-)

Not docile but harmless and timid in comparison to other scorpions.
Don't pick them up my the tail, scoop them up.
Singularly.
No, they should be able to burrow. An 80% coconut fibre and 20% peat blend worked best for me.
Temps should be 78-88. They live on the jungle floor where it is much cooler than the ambient air temp. I have even kept them at room temp though with no issues, they spend most of their time burrowed so even in the wild temps will be quite low in the leaf litter.

And also make sure you have 2-3 hides so they don't fight. if the female get pregnant you will have to take the male out so he doesn't kill or get killed. they also need a water bowl big enough to soak in but not drown in. i also gave mine fake plants. now i have an Asian forest scorpion and her babies in a 20 gallon tank. will be selling some soon.

I had a male and female I kept a few years ago, and here are some things that I learned:
As far as humidity is concerned, I put an inch layer of aquarium gravel down with a pvc pipe in the corner. I then put a mesh layer over the rocks, and about another 1.5 inch's of coco fiber down. Then, using the pvc pipe, fill water up to the top of the gravel. Refill about ever 4 days or so. Keeps humidity at about 75% without even trying.
Tons of hides... Like 2 per scorpion
Attach the heat-pad on the back of the enclosure, not the bottom. All the way on one side. But, if your ambient air temps in the room are in the mid to upper 80's F, then it should be fine.
I never had a uvb bulb on mine, so I am not sure if they require it. Everywhere I read said it was not required.

Thanks for the responses, the deal fell through but it is definitively something I will be looking to get in the near future.
