This morning while out on a walk with my dogs I noticed the grass on a hillside had been flattened in areas. It looked like something had been dragged through it. Well I followed the trail in the grass and it led to this!:)

Drumcrush, hells yeah it was! I have seen eastern painted turtles and box turtles laying but this was my first snapper.
Terranaut,
Her carapace was about 18-20" in length. These guys are all over the place during the spring!

An August find in Ontario. We see them yearly at the cottage. So I never see them going into the ground but I see them coming out.

Super cool find. I've never seen anything laying in the wild but I've watched 2 male northern water snakes court a female and watched as she became receptive to one of them. The loser went back into the water.
