I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and just saw this snake in my driveway, does anyone know what species this is?

A rat snake or a corn snake... either way, non-venomous and harmless. Often sold in the pet trade and kept as a beginner's snake.

It looks like a Corn snake to me as well. Beautiful, beneficial and harmless.

a very beautiful (and harmless) corn snake. Enjoy your new neighbor. He and his fam will help keep the local rodent population in check.

The vibrant orange and red markings are kinda distinctive, but even more so, if you are ever uncertain, use a broom and flip him over....if you see a vivid black & white checkerboard-like pattern on his belly, he is DEFINITELY a cornsnake.
