So I just started setting up a terrarium for a ball python. I talked to a guy who breeds balls, and picked one of them out. He said a good cheap bedding to use is this shredded newspaper that you can get from TSC. I bought some, and then put it into the tank, but this stuff doesn't sit right with me.

It's really dusty, enough so that when I dumped it out of the bag and into a big container, I was sneezing for a couple minutes. I'm worried that this stuff will be harmful to the snake, as there are allot of small pieces. Is this stuff okay? Would I be better off getting aspen? I want whatever is best for the snake. And also, where could I order whatever I should get cheap, and preferably in bulk?

I've attacked a picture of the bedding.

Welcome to the forum and best wishes with your BP. I've never used the shredded newspaper but I know there are lots of keepers who do. I personally use the aspen sani-chips or shredded aspen for my snakes. It's not too expensive.

Welcome aboard, and if it doesn't sit right with you then you should change it, doesn't get any cheaper than newspaper, doesn't look the best but works great
