I have a milk snake that is a couple months old, but I was never told the exact age.
He is really pale and his eyes are a pale blue white.
The humidity is at 40% and he has been like this for like 3 days, is he having trouble shedding?

Sounds to me like he is going to shed. Leave him alone and give him a large water bowl and spray him once in a while to raise the humidity.

It sounds like he's getting ready to shed. Give him a week or so. He should clear up in a few days and shed a couple of days after that. I wouldn't handle him at all during this time. You could try adding a moist hide or misting his enclosure a few times a day. Best wishes.

Cool, I'll get a large water bowl thing and see if that helps him.

Since he started to shed he's been hiding in a little tube for 3 days now, hopefully that's normal.

Yes that is normal for a snake in shed.

Yeah normal for milks. Did you attempt to feed him after shed? They are usually ready to eat afterwards, unless he eats during shed. All four of my snakes won't eat during the molting phase.

He is due to eat this monday, ill try then.
But he probably wont eat if he hasn't finished.

Are milk snakes always this scared and hidden or does that change with age?
I always try handling him often (not while shedding) to get him used to it but he is always hidden. Even at night.

Also I got the humidity to 55% hopefully that helps

Milks tend to be shy skittish types of snakes.

Yeah they will eventually venture out especially if foraging for food. My black milk hides most of the time.

Snakes are really vulnerable during this time so they tend to stay hidden. All of my snakes will eat during shed. Sometimes I feed them and other times I let them complete the shed cycle. They're always really hungry after they've shed.

Interesting, then I guess I will try it out and feed him tomorrow.

If you place a mouse close to his hide, he will come out lol:D

I think my snake has had a traumatizing past, I keep the mouse 2 inches from his hidden area and he got close to his exit and that is it.
I had to move the mouse next to the exit, then he ate it.
I am a college student and I have late nights so I know he even stays their at night.
Also his color seems to not be as pale as it was before, so he should finish his shed soon? How is he going to do that in that little bamboo xD

I guess he is going to live his whole baby snake life in that bamboo, here is a video:

Yeah they won't come out while in shed. Very vulnerable time for Reptiles.

Only if I could speak snake and tell him it's all going to be okay, :D
It was funny when he started eating it, because all of sudden the mouse starting to get moved into the bamboo. lol
The mouse was already dead.

He seems like a young snake that's in shed and still getting used to his environment. Be patient and gentle with him and he should settle down. It took my snakes about 2-3 months before they became comfortable with me. As he grows he won't be so shy either. Keep him warm and fed and he'll be fine in no time.

Good to know, I am just so eager to start handling him.
Thanks for the heads up

Jungle Mix, but the bad thing is how it's difficult to spot poop. lol.
I am replacing it with normal aspen soon, for that reason and so it's easier for him to burrow himself.
