Hi there, I'm Susan, and i have had a corn snake, my first snake, for 1-1/2 years. I recently adopted my friends. 12 y/o ball python. Ever since Lucy, my python, arrived, Fiona, my corn, had been freaking out. She is normally docile, always has good kills, good sheds, and has always been a sweet, fun snake. All of a sudden now she is sketchy. The first sign of a problem was when i took her out for her daily snake walk in the yard. Usually she noses around, slithering here and there and generally enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. This time (i should mention here that i had just had Lucy sunning in the same area minutes before) she rears up and leaps forward and i had to scramble to get her. She was like frantic, and it was scary to carry her cause she was so upset. When i got her tho her tank she gets in and throws herself against the glass and was very agitated. Another day she kept pulling back into an S shape like she was going tho strike and now both my son and i are afraid to hold her. The other thing is that, for the first time, she had a bad kill, And then refused to eat. Could she be upset over the python? Does she feel threatened? Btw, she hasn't shed for several months. She appears healthy, is active and seems tho miss her daily walks. Any advice or ideas? Thanks everyone!

if you got her as a baby, she could be approaching sexual maturity at this age. How do you know she is a she?
Can you tell us about your tank set up? If she hasn't shed (which is normal for snakes to slow down as they grow up) in overly long time, its possible there is an issue with humidity, and she could be uncomfortable.
It is unlikely that the new BP is bothering her, but to be sure you should move it to a different room. This is also a good idea for any future snakes you may acquire in order to maintain a healthy snake collection. New snakes can bring diseases and mites in with them, that you may not catch until it is too late. Quarantine means separate rooms, separate cage furniture, separate feeding tongs etc, and that you wash your hand VEYR VERY well in between interacting with each snake, ideally you don't interact with them on the same day (snake A on monday, snake B on wednesday).
Lastly, is it possible she got exposed to any pesticide or herbicide, or any other chemical that could have been outside?

Hey and welcome. Males can exhibit strange behavior this time of year. Breeding season. My male corn is restless and has slowed down on eating and my male albino prairie king snake is all over the place as well. If you have a female snake around this behavior will really be obvious!

Just to clarify, they are in separate cages?
