Hello everyone NH
I'm getting back into the reptiles.I just picked up a Blue Spotted Temor Monitor.I so want to start working with him.but I'll give him a few days to settle into his new and better environment. Any information would be greatly appreciated. You can never know enough thank you.

Welcome, and have you had monitors before and are asking about this specific species or are you new to them?

What exactly do you mean by "work with him"? These are a very shy species, and do not tolerate stress well. Force handling him has a decent chance of killing the animal.
It's also worth mentioning that the "blue spot timors" on the market are not timors at all. They are actually a separate species, Varanus auffenbergi, or more commonly known as the Peacock Monitor. If you post up some pictures we can give you a more definitive identification.

Hi, can you put a few photos up of the whole enclosure and give details of the conditions? I am NOT asking for pics of the monitor, I agree with what`s been said in respect to them being a very "shy" species in most cases, and I hope you will "work" with the animal at it`s pace, not yours (much time and patience). Thanks!
