New build for the king

We were about to throw away a desk but saved it, and is now being turned into a new tank for Ammit:) so far I only spent 25$ on plexiglas and some round wooden posts. It is 4' long, 1 1/2' deep, and 1' tall. Can't wait for it to be finished:)

The post in the middle is just to hold up the top temporarily

Yeah, I know! she will love it:) I'm going to put in lil shelf for her to climb on, and I'm going to put in round supports, but drill holes through them and make a climby toy lol

Does anyone have any suggestions on lighting?? Their is a little swoop in the back left of the enclosure, and we are thinking about putting plexiglas over it, and hook up some LED lights.

Yeah go LED for sure! RGB if you want different colors lol. I love the blues and reds for night.

Here are some updated pics:) got some support in there, and got the plexiglas fitted. We will get the plexiglas all in place when we get the whole thing sealed. We also built a shelf for Ammit to climb on to and we will have that installed when we we get it all sealed as well. I have some heat tape coming in (Thank you Steve :) ) and I also have a hydrofarm coming in as well:) I also plan on painting it :p

Is the inside exposed particle board? I can't really tell.. if it is I would recommend sealing with a bar top epoxy, any moisture will be bad news.

And I am sure Formica will say it... but make sure your power supply complys with the safety standards of the area you are in.

I got some waterproofer, that's about it haha I don't know when we will work on it next, hopefully soon.

Update: got the enclosure waterproofed, and about to seal it once it is all finished drying. After that, we are going to lay down some tiles and then figure out how we are going to run the heat tap.

Making progress. We ran out of our white sealer, that's why it looks crappy, but we are going to pick up some more tonight and hopefully finish sealing it tomorrow.

I used 2 things. One was the rain guard waterproofer . This was all clear, then I used kilz for a primer/sealer , and let it air out.
