i just got a baby Colombian red tail, and I am already hooked on boas. She is very curious and loves to explore. Only thing i was wondering was is it normal for them to not use hides? She has one in every corner but she'd rather be on top of it then inside. I've had no issues with her so far and that does seem pretty normal of boas based on videos I've watched. Sorry i couldn't get any pics, i should have some of my entire collection by the weekend .

Congrats on your new boa! Might be an indication that temps are off. If your conditions are good I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy!

All snakes are different. Most babies are shy and will use hides. A few might be more relaxed and not mind being in the open.

As pdomensis mentioned, make sure the conditions in the enclosure are set properly.

my baby red tail is only in her hide half the time, mostly chilling on top of them otherwise. Probably no biggy. :) congrats
