Wow, I was planning on getting a snow bull this fall. I usually like to raise hatchlings but that's a nice looking snake. I'm tempted but I think I'll pass. Sure can't beat a free snake though.

Yep, if I had an extra enclosure, I would've gone and got it myself.

I'd snatch it up if they'd ship it, but I doubt they would want to
not to mention, in an area that big, I bet they got rid of him pretty quickly

Whoever gets/has this snake lucked out for sure.
Pits are fantastic, interesting, active and docile snakes with an interesting quirk. The think they are rattle snakes. They hiss and wag their tails as a threat display. Lots of enjoyment to be had and what a looker. Wish I was close enough :( More people should consider pits.

I must admit I've got a touch of pit fever. My albino bull snake has beautiful markings, is a dream to handle, and an absolute eating machine. She's only hissed at me once and that was the day I got her. I'm planning on adding a male snow or ivory bull snake to my collection in the fall. The freebie on CL is a real beauty but the timing isn't right :(

I know what you mean T. Seems like a great opportunity but I promised the little lady I wouldn't get any more snakes until we move this fall. Space is getting a little tight in the apartment. I also prefer to raise hatchlings or juvenilles.

it is important to keep our ladies happy, that's as good a reason as any :]
I totally know where you are coming from about the hatchlings and juvies. That's usually the way I am too

^this! my hubby was hesitant at first...once i convinced him to get our first corn, he was hooked as soon as he held her...thank goodness! and he is a GREAT help to me with taking care of them...he does any heavy work (building, rearranging, etc) while I do feedings, maintenance, etc...we both enjoy the handling and watching, though! :D I have to kind of laugh at his fellow firemen...once they found out we have snakes, they said they would let our house burn to the ground before coming inside to fight a fire...I have teased them so much about being wussies, that i have at least gotten them to agree to put the flames out...hubby assures them that if i were home at the time, i would be coming out draped in snakes, or die trying...LOL

my wife was the one who suggested asking Ziggy to pick up the snake and ship it to us. Our current bull snake is actually hers, she makes sure I don't forget it, LOL
