I am working with a few different hybrid projects at work. We didn't have pairs for a few things so we figured we may as well produce what we can.

We are pairing:(m x f)

Amazon x Emerald
GTP x JCP
JCP x Macklot's

The most promising at the moment seems to be the Amazon X Emerald pairing. My female is HUGE the past couple days and has been refusing food for weeks. I haven't seen anything going on in a while but they are more active when we catch them in the dark.

Has anyone produced these? I have never played with hybrid breeding before. I have heard you end up with a lot of slugs.

What is the optimal temps for the female?
Are the offspring of this pairing able to breed?

Any other info that might help me would be much appreciated :)

I'm very intrigued by that JCP x Macklot's pairing. Took in a monster male macklots a few months ago that would look great paired with one of my Jungles.

This one is apparently 75% Jungle Carpet, 25% Macklot

Most people are crossing them to coastals. I had a hard time coming up with anything. I googled that so who knows.

That macklotts x carpt is beautiful. Are there any macklotts x gtp's?

I'm sure its been done. I haven't heard of it, but someone at least tried I'm sure lol.

Here's a pro-hybrid thread.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I just wanted to note that one of the local keepers here who's worked with Amazon x Emerald hybrids found that the vast majority of the snakes started to show skull deformities as they grew. The snakes looked fine at birth, but when they matured, the differences in size between the two parent species messed up the skulls, and they'd develop jaw misalignments, eye problems, sunken skulls, etc.

I'm not anti-hybrid at all. I own 3 hybrids myself: a Batwing rattlesnake, an Atheris squamigera x broadleyi hybrid, and a Mojave x Prairie rattlesnake. All of my hybrids are robust, healthy, awesome snakes. I just wanted to bring up the ETB x ATB issue because I only learned about it at the last Hamburg reptile show.

Oh no! I actually didnt know that myself. I'll have to look into it. I've read into it a little and saw pictures of some really gorgeous adults. If I get anything bad I definitely wont be doing it again :/ Its hard to find alot on hybrids.
