So a couple months ago a buddy of mine gave me his three ATBs. It was a pretty good deal for me. I have never really given these guys a second look before my friend got his. I always just thought they were "tree demons" as I've seen some people call them. After working with the three from my buddy, I decided I wanted another one. Now I just acquired another garden pair in a trade. So I've caught the ATB bug if you will.

These snakes are pretty freaking cool. Don't get me wrong, they can have a temper when they want to but if you handle them correctly you usually don't have a problem. I really like how curious and aware they are of their surroundings(one of the reasons I also like old world rats). When I open their cage, they always come up to the opening to see what's going on. They are just really cool snakes that I'm happy I gave a chance.

Here's a couple of ok pics of the amazons, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to take pics of these so bare with me with the quality as I just have a digital point and shoot camera.

First is Anastasia, she is a garden phase that size has some growing to do. I really like all the pattern on her, I'm curious to see how she turns out as she matures.

Next is Dokes, I can't seem to get a good pic of him. When it warms up I'll have to take him outside.

This is Hera, I also can't get a great pic of her showing her colors. It also doesn't help that she is over 5ft and easily the most grumpy one I have. So this is the best I can do for now.

Those above are the three I got from my friend, not a bad way to start into ATBs if you ask me.

Now here is the one I got on my own. I've posted her before, I really like her colors.

Next is the pair I just got in a trade. First will be the female, the rest will be of the male.

wow. stunning! Do they change colors over time, because people call them "phases" and phases are temporary? I've always wondered that lol

Some will change over time and some won't. The first one I posted a pic of is a Halloween or garden phase. These are essentially a normal. She will most likely end up like the last two I posted pics of. The orange one I have most likely looked like that since he was born for the most part. These guys are so variable that its next to impossible to predict what will come out of a pairing and what a snake will look like as an adult.

For example, if I breed the last two I posted together. They are garden phase(normal), most likely the offspring will be more gardens. But there could also be colored phases that come out like my orange and red one. They same can be said when breeding two colored phases together, you could get all gardens. But if you breed colored phases together, you are more likely to get more colored phases.

That's part of the fun of breeding these, you just never know what you are going to get. The only genetic mutations of these are calicos, tigers, and leopards. Pretty much anything outside of those mutations will have a random outcome.
