Jumpstart by HydroFarm. Need to order one for when I get my Corn Snake. I don't want to wait much longer to order it, since the reptile expo is creeping up on me quickly!!!!!!!!!

Crazy question here, I know these work for UTHs but can they work for a lamp or CHE?

They are ON / OFF Thermostats. Generally, for a lamp you want a proportional. Not sure about CHE's.

ok so a lamp would drive you nuts, but in principle...?

I don't think the element in the lamp would last very long being turned on and off constantly.

I don't see why not, but I would imagine that the bulb wouldn't last as long constantly turning on and off.

I've got 3 hydrofarm t-stats and they all work great. For $35 I think they're definitely worth trying. I also had a infrared bulb on a hydrofarm t-stat. I couldn't take the constant off an on after a couple of weeks :)

Thanks. I will only be using mine for a heat mat. Lamps don't like being turned off and on frequently.

I think the hydrofarms are great for just controlling UTH's. I've had no issues.

I use Hydrafarms on flexwatt and RHPs. Never had an issue.

They look exactly like my 4 hydrofarms.

I wired a dimmer switch to my heat lamp so I can turn it way down so it only adds a few degrees when needed ... I think I payed 5$ from Home Depot and it's really easy to wire into any normal heat lamp

Way to go! T-stats make a world of difference. I felt so much better once I added mine. One of the most vital pieces of equipment for keeping snakes I'd say.

Yeah, I have two already, they're ok but they're analog, not digital, and can take a bit to calibrate. Can't wait to try this one out!

You will find you will set them based on readings and not what temp appears on the thermostat itself. I love the Hydrafarm. Can't beat it for the money.
