Hello everyone last December I received a new female extreme hypo. She has been in brumation since I got her and recently was warmed up with the rest of my group. This past weekend I started introducing my male to all of my females for several hours at a time. I snapped a couple pics of my rockstar male with his new girl. You can see how much more red pigment is in her bands. Also in the second pic you can see how a true extreme hypo male has silver bands that continually get lighter towards the tail(almost platinum). Hope yall like!http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg565/fullHOLLOW/IMG_0006.jpg

Thanks Ziggy! I will keep the pics coming as the season moves along! All my females have been eating like pigs(2 rat pups twice a week) and they have all shed once since out of brumation. Supposedly after the second post brumation shed they start ovulating.

That's funny my jampea girl is named Nagini.(I don't really refer to her by name other then to my GF though)

Gorgeous snakes, how much do those run? I want one.

Nice! She is a beast so I thought it as a fitting "pet" name. Price kind of depends on who your dealing with and the over all level of "extreme" in a particular animal.

Top shelf males like Apollo can go from $180 up to several hundred. Females are almost never available. I only saw 2 top shelf male extremes for sale this year. One sold for $180, and the other sold for $245. Good luck finding one!

Lol! Thanks man. Maybe I can hook you up with a "mini" Apollo in the future. He is going to be a stud for 3 extreme females. Hopefully I get at least a couple top shelf males. Cross your fingers for me!

You just might have to...honestly one of the best looking extremes I think I've seen. Not many I've seen are such a bright orange and clean silver/platinum color and banding..great snake man! Good luck with the babies :)

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. I'm happy to share with everyone here! You guys should know that we have a new member here on the forums who I consider an authority on Lampropeltis! His name is DMong. If it were not for his years of hard work and selective breeding I would not have 2 of my favorite snakes. Apollo and Athena are siblings that I got from Doug back in 2011. I might not even have the obsession for extremes if it weren't for Doug either!
Doug, if you come across this thread I just want to say THANK YOU SIR!!!

Wow Patrick, thanks so much for the kind words and introduction my friend. It is certainly my pleasure that you have this nice pair that is doing so well in your care. Best of luck with producing some awesome extremes for yourself this season as well. :)

cheers, ~Doug
