I had my rat 'SnakeBayt' out for some adventure time today, and the snake room is the only place i can shut off completely from the cat and dog... Its almost as if she knows she is being watched... :P :Wow:

I had my breeder/pets out tonight too...tried them out in a ball in the living room for more space to roam...they had a blast! my 1 cat went up and tried to sniff once, and freaked out because the ball rolled...hehe...it was cute!

I don't get to do things like that. Louis wouldn't put up with it
Louis is my toy fox terrier/rat terrier mix.
Instinct to kill rodents is bad enough, but on top of that, he has issues

my crested was pretty intent on studying him, but he has been in our critter room many times, and has never harmed a reptile or a rodent...none of our furries have...but i still wouldn't trust any of them with them if they weren't protected with a ball or an enclosure...animals are way too unpredictable!

Louis would probably be just as likely to try to kill the ball as he would the rat. like I said, he as issues. Ex- pull up to a light in the winter time. On the ground next to you is one of those big clumps of ice that formed behind someones tire and fell off when they stopped.
On my lap is Louis, trying to go through the window to kill the clump of ice.
We used to have rats, and Louis knew what the word meant even. You would ask him "where are the rats?" he go tearing through the house into the back room to where the rats are, bark at them , then come back. We had to put a stop to it when he was no longer satisfied with a few barks then coming back. The last time we asked him where they were, we heard him literally bounce off of the rat cage.
Like I said, issues.
He is actually quite smart for a psychopath though, he knows what different animals are by name. You can ask him if there's any honkers, he'll take off running and barking, looking up in the air for the geese. You ask him where are the frogs, he'll take off running and barking toward the creek. Ask him about peeper birds, he'll take off running and barking toward the driveway, looking for the killdeer.
Starbuck, how do you like those critter condos?

What do you mean by kritter condos? The melamine snake cages? I like them well enough. I wish I had gotten them a bit bigger, and some of the melamine coating is peeling in some very minor places (not affecting the integrity of the cahe yet). If I could have purchasedagain I would have spent extra to ship the plastic fabricated cages, I bought melamine at a show because I could get all 8 right away with no shipping. Now kind of regretting it. I dont think they will last past 10 years when I move around as much as I do.
That's what I was thinking. There a great price, but I want something permanent.
