I'm new to this form and I'm hoping to possibly introduce or bring more attention to a snake I've noticed not a lot of snake enthusiasts know about the "Dominican Red Mountain" boa. I was visiting my friend who is a snake breeder and noticed he had a new pair of snakes I had never came across. When i asked him about them he told me that he wasn't going to tell me about them at first but since I asked he would tell me. So he told me a little bit and that they were new to the market. So I went and did some research and saw how screaming/stunning they look as adults. So I got a pair of Red "Dominican Red Mountain" boas from Bob O out of New Jersey a few years back.

They're are very tame, docile and easy to handle. The adults stay around 5-6' on average so they are easy to work full grown.

Hello and Welcome. I was always a fan of the dominican boas. But I heard you need permits for them?

I've never been a big fan of them. Probably because I've never heard of any unique behavior they have that can't be found in other animals.

There is someone local selling CBB babies.

Hey everyone thanks for the welcome!

Have any of you seen whatbthe Calico Dominican Red Mountain Boa looks like?! & to think you can produce that from normal DRMB's!!

Mikoh4792 yeah there awesome snakes! I don't know of any permits being required for this snake though? I had mine at the last San Diego reptile show and had no issues. Do you think it's just required by your city/state? PM me about the permit your talking about.

Poison123 yeah I can see where you are coming from. For me, I wanted to work with them because I thought it would be a rare chance to have the opportunity to work with a new species to the reptile market. I also really like the way the Dominicans look and after working with them and seeing how docile they are, I've been very happy working with them.

Thank you! & yeah I hadn't seen them much and didn't see anyone else with them at the last San Diego Reptile show. More and more people are starting to know what they are though!

Is shipping to Europe difficult? I wonder if that's maybe why you haven't in Europe.

Thank you for the welcome! Yeah I totally agree, I was hooked the first time I saw them in my friends garage and I've had a great experience working with them. I do have some female DRMB babies if you are interested. I'll PM you when I get home from work this evening with more information.

Hi I unfortunately don't have the funds or space for more reptiles at the moment. I'm actually trying to downsize my collection because my Dominicans have started to breed again! But if I hear any one interested I'll will contact you. Hope your friend can find a new home for the male DRMB!
