View Full Version : Identification help!
I find these all the time at the apartment community where I work. Thought maybe they are copperheads, but not 100 percent sure. Any help?

Any time its something from the east it ends up being a dekay brown snake. LOL. I'd never even heard of them until this forum but it seems like they're everywhere.
Whatever it is, it's definitely not venomous

The thing that gets me though, if you suspected they were copperheads.. Why is it in your bare hand?

Dekayi brown snake. Storeria Dekayi.
Harmless slug and worm eaters, related to the common garter snake.

+1 hey, a possibly venomous snake, lets pick it up. You got lucky that it isn't.
