New albino black rat snake (:

Meet Cortez (: I haven't taken him out for real pictures yet, so these are just a few cell phone shots from the day I got him... he has quite the story, and quickly has become one of my favourite snakes. He is so sweet and curious, and handsome! I haven't measured him, but he is easily 6 feet.

He uses his tongue differently than how I've seen any of my other snakes use theirs... My other snakes flick their tongue quickly, but Cortez will slowly lick surfaces.

Cbrierly - He's a big fella! I'm not usually a colubrid fan because of their general shapes and size (I like heavy bodied snakes), but this guy is hefty! Lol

He was a pet for 10 years, then dropped off at this reptile store where he sat for a few more years. I admired him every time I went in, but his price put me off. The last time I went in, he had shed and was watching me with those big blue eyes... I knew I couldn't leave him again. So I talked to the shop keeper about his price, and we came to a satisfactory agreement that let this guy come home with me <3 Maybe it's not such a story to anyone else, but it is to me!

lisas - his eyes are what drew me to him the most! I have never seen a snake with blue eyes like his before, and his are so expressive <3
