So this is my current tank set up for my boa. 36x18x16 tank with a screen top. I have a piece of 1/4" tempered glass cut to fit and cover 2/3 of the top in hopes that this will help regulate temp and humidity. For heating I have an under tank heater and a ceramic bulb, the other dome is just a compact florescent for viewing. I know now after reading a bunch of posts that I have some work to do. Tomorrow I am going to pick up a thermostat and gauges. Any other suggestions?

You should provide a hide on the other side of the tank, so that the snake doesn't have to choose between thermoregulation and security.

Oh, yeah you can't really tell from the original pics but this is the driftwood hide in front of the water dish on the cool side. Once he gets bigger I will put another large hide in. Right now he doesn't even use the one that is in there, instead he curls up under the driftwood where it crosses on the log and where it meets the corner of the cage.

My apologies. From the other angles it just looked like a flat piece of driftwood to me.

Personal opinion but if you can see into a hide then it isnt a hide. All mine are completely enclosed with just a small entrance

Looks good, but I'd probably add more plexi glass to cover the screen.... preferably all but 1.5-2.5 inches of space around the lamp.... and then a few small holes(1/8") near the coolside for a bit of circulation.
Where did you get the wood? Is that cypress mulch? Your setup looks nice.

@CosmicOwl No worries, my pics didn't show it well :)
@Lankyrob I'll work on that, have some more drift wood that I can use for now. I've seen some really great looking enclosures on here and have a ton of ideas of what I want to do next.
@Mikoh4792 I was thinking the same thing about more glass. I wish I had gotten the first piece cut like you said. My husband works for a window company so I'm going to see if he can get me a new piece. I'm really regretting not getting the exo terra terrarium with doors, it's a pain to take everything off the top to open it, lol.
The wood is driftwood from the river that runs through town, sterilized in the dishwasher, and I used coconut fiber substrate. Thanks for the compliment :)
