What happens if my snake got a little substrate in his mouth? Like it was on the mouse and he ate it? (this didn't happen, I just want to be prepared). Or what if some got stuck in his mouth?
Okay just kidding, I just saw him yawn and there was something in his mouth. I couldn't see well cause I was looking through clear plastic. But anyway it was blackish? How, and when do I get this out. And if (which I am pretty sure you are suppose to). Oh, I JUST fed him.

Any advise needed! Thanks :)

As long as your husbandry is right..don't.

If it is bothering him and he is constantly opening uis mouth to try to get rid then i would interfere and get it out sooner rather than later. Use a qtip to gently open the moutha nd tweezers to remove the item. If however the snake swallows the item it should be fine with the right husbandry.

Think about the wild, i bet most snakes eat the odd leaf, piece of bark, dirt etc :)

What kind of snake is it? Some naturally have some pigment around their glottis or in the back of their throat

I was worried about the same thing with my BRB. I've had several people tell me to feed in a different container, but I have learned that it's a pain to both me and the snake. I drop food in his enclosure, bam!, it's over. Tried with a container for long lengths of time to no avail. Like all have mentioned, they swallow all kinds of things in the wild.:yes::yes:

Every time I see a post like this I imagine a very worried owner following the snake around with a baggie waiting for it to do its business to see if the piece of dirt came out or not. :p

Yeah, I tried to feed in a empty tub before, but he won't... He likes striking, and dragging it into a hidden corner, then swallow. I try to keep it on a paper towel, but he just drags it off...
