Nice vids mikoh! I love your carpets, all of them are such lookers! But I have to say that first video made me chuckle, how fast the snake had the feeding response kick in and was about to come out of the cage to get that rat! Lol

I love your carpets as well Mikoh. Nice vids too. I've got one more snake to acquire to complete my small collection. A carpet is right at the top of the list.

Yeah... as they get bigger I need to be more careful. Their reach is nothing compared to scrub pythons but being long and thin they still have a good reach.
My IJ in the second video, you can't really tell since I was using a wide angle lens but he was only about a foot away from striking my face, you can kind of tell I was backing up haha.

Have you thought about what kind? There are really a lot to choose from, might be a hard choice lol.
If you are looking for a nice pet that won't get too large, or can endure most conditions(hot, cold, humid, dry...etc) I'd look into an inland carpet. Beautiful snakes and noted for their docility.

I won't make a move until late this year or early next year after I move into my new place. I have to do a bit of research yet but I'll definitely ask for your counsel. You and a few others here have beautiful animals and good info.

Don't worry, they grow quick enough! Sometimes I wish they grew slower....love them at the baby stage when their bites are cute.

Which one? I like those too, but I've decided to sell those since I've lost interest in most morphs. Just sticking to the natural forms.

awesome videos! all of my snakes have great "killing strikes" (my corns are the most vicious!) but since I switched my CRB to f/t, she is pretty lazy now...kinda miss how she was when she fed live...(not the danger of it, just her reaction)...

The one in the last two videos. If your selling the zebras, what are you going to replace them with :P? Darwins maybe? :)

lol no. Just selling them and keeping my current collection as is. I may add one inland carpet in the future but who knows.

Very nice Mikoh! Beautiful animals. I love how the the last snake was all 'i got this!' once he noticed it was food.

haha yeah once the smell of food is in the air, the switches go off and he's fully in feeding mode.

Do you have any videos? I haven't noticed any differences in feeding response vigor between live and f/t.... I guess they take longer to kill the live prey, but the striking and constriction seem to be the same.

no videos, I will try and get some next week when I feed...my CRB has become so lazy with her feeding that she wouldn't even take hers last night...left it in her tank in front of her hide and it was gone a few hours later...I think she really misses "the hunt"..LOL...even the zombie dance didn't spark her interest this week...she sniffed it, but then ran to the other side of her tank and hid under her plants...but my corns were going nuts wanting more, tried to strike at me a few times through the glass...may have to bump them up soon...
