I'm a bit of a hobby (pet) photographer, and wanted to share. I used to breed show-mice (and the non show or breed worthy animals were feeders) They were a ton of fun, but would never sit still!! Picked out a few i liked. If people like this i might post other series later.

I can give you an idea of what i sold them for here, put the price in US$ behind it.
The ones with bad show flaws (short tail, small build, folded ears, etc. ) went as feeders 1,- each. (1,35$)
Good build breeder mouse 7,50-. (10 US$)
Satin gene carrier +1,50. (2$) Satin mouse + 3,50. (4,70$)
Show worthy mice: 15,-(20$) and up, (For example, the 4th mouse won 5 shows, babies with his pattern/temperament/build went for over 20,-(27$)

These were taken with my canon 550D, with a macro lens and a external flash module.. Not sure which macro lens it was but i can look it up if you want to know.

Yea her name was Harvey (2face) Sadly she was black and white ( i mainly bred blue, red and yellow) But she was very nice and carried blue so i kept her anyway, she was a great and very caring mother so she was my surrogate mom on several occasions :)

If she has a very good build she might be just a good of a show mouse as he was, the only i had to ever win 5 shows! :D Even the mouse on the 1st picture only won 4, even though he was my best breeder with a perfect build.
Teal Ty :D
Kelzerman, yea almost a buffet, expensive buffet though

I don't think we have any mouse shows around here, though...I will try to get a pic of her sometime...I may have 1 on my computer somewhere...

These are the best I could get of her tonight. She is a bit of a nervous nelly because she is expecting :) she has a son that looks similar to her but his lines are more pronounced where hers are kind of blended with her white...

I like the colors on the second mouse. He reminds me of a peanut-butter cup, with the darker on top and tan peanut color on his belly. Mice are really cute little critters; I work in science though, so I've seen some nasty mouse stuff.
I've seen mice kill and dismember each other while breeding, eat their own babies, etc.
Are all mice like that, or is that a problem for inbred lab mice specifically?

I have seen similar behavior with some of my breeders...mostly the plain white "breeder" mice provided to my by the LPS for a colony...constant cannibalism between adults and litters...once I got fancies and replaced them all, I have had no issues with any of this...even my "grow up tank" which consists of mainly males growing to adult size there is virtually no fighting, where the white ones were eating each other...same food, same conditions, and even more of the fancies than there were whites...I found it odd, but have stuck with my fancies and culled any plain white fuzzies/hoppers that occur from breeding just in case...I have ONE white female that has proven to be a good mom...she is still around until I retire her...

The mice i had were mainly bred as pets, not as snake food. I never had any issues with cannibalism, in the start i sometimes had a first time mom eating her young. But after feeding them a different diet that completely stopped! I believe it's part diet, and part selective breeding. I also had white fancy mice who did perfectly btw.
Aww, adorable. I like the greyish one with the brown tummy :)
