Hey guys,
I'm considering purchasing a smaller species of monitor in late spring/early summer, but I like to be prepared and keep my options open.

Let me know of any good places to purchase young monitors. I'm considering the following:

Black tree
ackie
peach throat
timor

I've been researching these animals since far before I purchased my tegu over a year ago, but I know healthy monitors can be somewhat hard to come by.

Thanks

Hey man hope all is well. Try Mike at Hopping herps. He breeds several species of dwarf monitors if I'm not mistaken. Here is a link to his website.

Hey guys,
I'm considering purchasing a smaller species of monitor in late spring/early summer, but I like to be prepared and keep my options open.

Let me know of any good places to purchase young monitors. I'm considering the following:

Black tree
Nobody breeding these in numbers (or at all in the US?) you will have to buy farm raised/hatched
ackie (Alex Monsalve, Krusty, Brandon @ Rare earth, Brandon @ Canadiancoldblood (you'd need to import these), Chris Murray @ C&M Exotics, basically anybody will have them. Reds are around 500 if they are true reds, yellows 250-350.
peach throat
Nobody producing these, same as Black trees and timors
timor
There is the timorensis and the auffenbergi, auff is the 'Blue spot' but most people try to sell regular timorensis as blue spots and bump the price tag. If your considering these, maybe consider V. similis as well, they are good captives, although they dont readily breed either
I've been researching these animals since far before I purchased my tegu over a year ago, but I know healthy monitors can be somewhat hard to come by.

Thanks

Thanks guys. I was aware it was likely that I would be getting cb rather than cbb, which is the case. I placed a deposit for a cb Black tree monitor with Ben Siegel. I've had good success with his company in the past and so have others purchasing tree monitors.
He's also holding onto the little monitor for several weeks to make sure it is healthy and well established.

Snakes at sunset received some which were cbb in indonesia recently I believe. Very small hatchlings, not offered often. I'm wondering if Ben received from the same shipment, or if he bought them off Snakes at sunset. Have any pics! I love the beccarii

He only received one, so I jumped right on it. Some people use cb/cbb interchangeably, but I wanted the little guy/girl either way so I didn't delve into too much detail about that. I had a lot of other questions.
He said "cb from an Indonesian shipment"

The only picture I have seen so far:

Also, I just looked at snakes at sunset. Both they and Ben received Caiman lizards at the same time as well, so yes it's very likely that they were from the same supplier.

So are you getting one? Or you wanted all three or none?

But thanks, he does look healthy, I messaged them to check in and they said he's still not eating aggressively so hopefully all is well.

I definitely will assuming all works out. I'm also looking forward to working on this enclosure.

I was interested in all three since you dont seem them that size often. Luckily they sold two I believe rather quickly, since I don't have the money atm.

Exactly why I placed an order. Like the original post said I was looking for something around early summer time, but it literally just appeared in front of me so I placed a deposit and am working out all of the husbandry stuff.
