Was doing cage maintenance for the chahoua geckos, put my hand around a log slab to move it somewhere and my 60 gram male was waiting for me. He managed to latch onto my pointer finger, death roll with it in his mouth, and gape at me with my flesh hanging off his jaw. Hard to get a picture of it, but I can count 5 lacerations from seperate teeth in my finger. Hurts more than any storri bite, and even more than my yearling chondro bites. I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking haha.

I know your chuckling to yourself because it doesn't compare to a retic bite, but for a little 8 inch gecko, I am more than impressed lol

It's funny, geckos don't look like they would be aggressive to me, but that's quite a bite from a little 8 inch lizard.

Wasn't that the 7 footers roaming around free In the Fatal Attraction Series??? LOL!!! You never know though. My wife thinks that a snake's first thought if it escapes is to hunt for us and choke us instead of making a fast getaway......:suspicious:

Ugh Gecko bites are the worst! I had an African Fat Tail that got me on the finger, I was shocked at the huge gash he left. Actually had a flap of my finger just hanging there. I'd be interesting in finding out their jaw strength.

my 2 gram crested gecko is going to be a biter when it's older, I can already tell. It's bitten me so many times (obviously it doesn't break the skin because of how small it still is) once it's around 40 grams I'll be minding my fingers though lol.

That picture with the skin hanging out of your chahouas mouth is gnarly! I would be freaking out trying to get that away from him lmao :P

One of the most impressive bites I've received was from a Tokay....(ok. I was in 5th grade, but it stuck w me and I'm skeered of them now:) )

Dude, he looks so smug in that picture. Like he's gloating about his accomplishment. That is a crazy bite. Color me shocked but I can't believe a little 8 inch gecko did that. Me thinks that adorable looking package hides a dark passenger.

The closest I can come for you, Rob, off the top of my head is:
"It seems to be a bit of a sticky wicket Smy has got himself into. Hmm, yes?"

I, too, am rather surprised at the "damage". I didn't think the chahoua were that bitey. Now had it been a tokay, I would not have been the least bit surprised. (Or should that be the least "bite" surprised? :D ) Tokays be vicious bastards. (Not to be confused with "viscous bastards".)
