What is your dream reptile that you currently do not/cannot own for any reason. I have a few. Post pictures too!

Black throat monitor: I don't currently have the space or experience for this animal

I almost have the makings for the blue eyed Lucy's, so one day I will have one, sooooo exciting!!

I am planning in the next couple of years to acquire the following BP's:
1) Enchi
2) Champangne
3) Super Cinny
4) Ultra-amel
5) Piebald

for my corns, I really badly want to find a sunkissed, but am having a really hard time in doing so. And the one corn I desperately want but simply cannot afford anywhere in the near future is a Palmetto!!

That Lucy retic looks more like a ball python.

Oh tough question. Let me think on that one.

yes, I didn't even see that it was called a retic!! I saw the pic and instantly thought BP, blue eyed lucy!! That's what it looks like to me too!!

The pic of the lucy retic is a ball python like sublime said. Anyways, I have a long list of species, most of them are monitors because space and the ability to construct an appropriate enclosure is one of the major issues, the other one is lots of cool stuff in aus will never show up on our side of the pond.

The last one is O. cataphractus which I could probably get, but I'm not ready to spend that kinda $$ atm haha

They always are. My jamp girl just ate a pound and a half rabbit 2 days ago and is already looking for food.

They do look similar, the heat pits were the instant giveaway for me.

1. Eastern Indigo- Money.
2. Russian Ratsnake- Lack of availability.
3. Gecko of some sort- Time and money (for a planted viv).
4. Blue-tongue Skink- Time, money, space.

^^^These will all happen with time.

5. Any viper species- I'm too much of a wienie to own something that can lay me out for good.

Ladywraith, geckos are easy ;)

Planted vivs can be thrown together in an afternoon, and you can get lots of cheap species that make great vivarium inhabitants. You could grab a few mourning geckos, and hatch the eggs in-situ (you will get eggs no matter what). And they feed all together like an african watering hole during the drought season haha.

Anyways, some pics of species I want, being more specific.

O. cataphractus - Lack of funds (3-4k on a pair), Lack of husbandry info, none being exported from SA anymore.

http://thefeaturedcreature.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/3-armadillo_girdled_lizard1.jpg

P. rugosus - Mimick scorpion behavior.. I just haven't bought them yet...

V. cumingi - Housing would be an issue, funds as well...
http://kamikazereptile.com/V,S,%20cumingi%20(3).jpg

Too lazy to get more pics and I could go all day, but V. pilbarensis and Boelens pythons as well.

No disrespect intended, but Tegus aren't monitors :]

I loveeee my male tegu.

Haha yeah I'd put that on my list, but I figured the others were potentially feasible one day. This one, not so much.

Perhaps they meant the monitor tegu or Callopistes flavipunctatus.

As for the spectacle caiman, as long as you have the room they're feasible.

if you really wanted, we could arrange shipping during the warmer months, I'd give you a good deal. I won't be breeding for them for probably 2 more years, and of course I get the first one!!!:p

Lol, that's interesting about them feeding together. I didn't know they did that! I'm kinda done on acquisitions for awhile. I'm really bent on acquiring #1 on my list and that will take some fund saving being a full time student and all. I've got the Indigo bug bad

Definitely. I have compiled a list of substitute options that I'm working on. My realistic list looks like this.

1. Woma python
2. Aussie olive(male)
3. Platinum retic w/ sd blood
4. Borneo short tail
5. Blue tongue skink

It's not a perfect match for everything but it will have to due. I still hope that one day I can afford a black head, or that the price comes down.

My plans for the near future are either a dwarf retic or a smaller species of monitor, just to dip my toes in!
