my texas rat keeps climbing to the top of her enclosure in the crease near the lid and falling into her water bowl. She used to be able to do it without falling, but now she's too fat to.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice to make it so she'll stop? I'm just worried she's going to fall on something and get hurt. (i.e. her hides, they're not soft)..

Just give her time and she'll learn. Everything seems ok.

they will do that, they are one of the more active species to keep. As long as your temps are appropriate i would say don't worry. My female king used to wedge herself in and inch along like a little worm, until she SERIOUSLY got too chubbs. Make sure you have screen locks and that she can't escape, otherwise let her be.

My corns both do this...I also have to be careful opening their lids in case they are across the spot where it hinges in the middle...im afraid of squishing them...plus they try to make a break for it!

My gray rat snake used to wedge himself into a ledge on the inside of his tub and then stretch out until he fell. He's either learned his lesson, or gotten too fat to fit into the ledge. Either way he doesn't do it any more.
I'm sure snakes and lizards fall all the time in the wild, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My brothers corn did that a lot, recently stopped though. I think the new enclosure we got had something to do with it as well
