What should go into a first aid kit for us herpers? Are there any must have items, besides a big bottle of rum and some plasters?

my aunt keeps crazy glue for broken nails. shs a girly girl. i hope none of the ladies take offense to my saying that. duct tape is an essential in any first aid kit . it fixes everything haha.

Tis absolutely true! Crazy glue is used in tarantula injuries as well, it's often the only way to seal an abdominal rupture and save your animal.

vinegar is a definite must! especially in care of LARGE boids not so much as first aid but to aid yourself in order to make to a point of getting first aid LOL!! large bandages(obviously),a turiquit(sp?) to stop the bleeding (even small bites can bleed amazing amounts) I'm sure ill think of more but right now im drawing a blank so ill get back when i think of more hehe.

First Aid Kit for the Herp:

Cotton swabs (puffs and Qtips)
Polysporin
Betadine soap
Crazy Glue (I'm a T keeper)
Forceps/ tweezers (2 pair)
gauze
bandage tape (to keep bandage tight but never on the herps skin)
list of herp vets and emergency clinics in the area
pillow case (for quick transport)
small clean towel
envelope to stash petty cash in case of emergency
eye droppers

This is what I have in mine so far...I keep it in a small rubbermaid with pre-drilled airholes so it can double as a transport container if I need to take the herp to the vets.
Anyone else have a kit? What do you keep in yours that I haven't mentioned?

I suggest a blindfold and handcuffs in a herper first-aid kit....

...to take to herp shows so you don't spend all your $...

(you people have such a dirty mind;) )

lol Chris and Jenn,

Yo add to the Herp kit .. I always have nix, baythril, flagyl, panacure, the ivory dishwaher soap.. Long tubes .. many needles and I even have valium for the HUGE in case.. (many of the things I listed though SHOULD not be in your kit unless u know what there for or how to use em....

For the herper.. I find a waterless cleaner with alchool in it .. to cleanse all your cotinuous cuts and bites..

:):):)
