Hey, my buddy is looking for a good lizard. We know about the leopard geckos, anoles and bearded dragons... but do you know of anything else that would be a good first time lizard?

Thanks!

Blue tongue skinks are a good option.

Uromastix are very hardy and much more interesting than the beardies.

He wants smaller ones that don't get so big.

Crested geckos, gargoyles geckos.... day geckos if he's ok with not handling it

Blue-tongued skinks = good, medium-sized (not too big, not too small or fragile like a gecko). Not very fast, short stubby legs so they can't get away from a child easily. Very forgiving with diet & habitat. And they can be potty-trained!

Just add heat, balanced diet and diggable substrate.

I rescued a chinese water dragon. Was going to rehome him but got to attached. His name is now dino.

Crested geckos or gargoyle geckos. Both great for first time lizards.
