I got my sand boa as a baby and I have been keeping him in a smaller cage since it was impossible to find him in his larger cage. Now that he is getting bigger, and easier to find, I plan to move him soon. Currently he has two hides and some plants in his cage that he never uses, he stays hidden under the aspen most of the time. I am unsure of what to put in his new enclosure to make him feel comfortable and hidden.
So my question for more experienced sand boa owners is how have you set up your enclosures? What hides or plants does your sand boa enjoy? Or do they only burrow in the substrate and not use other hides or cover provided?

I keep most of mine in a rack system, with sterilite tubs, but the two I have in display enclosures do not have any plants or any other decorations...and they never used the hides I put in, so I removed them...and sand boas or any other snake really don't "enjoy" decorations such as plants...

Ok, thank you. I just wanted to make sure he wouldn't be stressed with out any cover other than the substrate.

Nope, just bedding is fine in my experience for their need for security.
