feeding red tail in water

i am honestly just curious if it is ok to feed red tails in water.

My carpet will occasionally take the rat off the tongs and then fall into the water with the food. I worried the first time, but nothing bad happened. I figure he'll get up if he starts to drown. I wouldn't toss food in the water though.

ok more i wanted others thoughts on this i mean i know in the wild snakes will eat in the water.

my guys take their prey wherever they are laying...water, from hides, perches...i think you're good to go.

It's generally not a problem to feed in or near the water dish.

It shouldn't be a problem. Snakes don't like drowning any more than we do.
