Hi everyone,

I'm supposed to go the Atlanta Repticon expo this weekend. I was looking at and Google searching the vendors list and it looks like they're mostly ball python breeders. I'm looking for an albino patternless bull snake or possibly a snow Honduran milk snake. Has anyone ever attended the Atlanta Repticon? Do they have a wide variety of snakes available? I'd hate to drive an hour for nothing. Does anyone here know of a quality bull snake breeder? If all else fails I'll have to start an online search next week. I was so looking forward to getting my new addition this weekend.

I've never been to an Atlanta expo since I live on the other side of the country however its been my experience from the expos I've been too that ball pythons are typically the main attraction. I'm not sure I've ever seen a bull snake at an expo I've been too but there are usually some people with completely random stuff so you could get lucky.

On a side note. Bull snakes are one of the few snakes I've ever seen in the wild over in eastern Washington. But of course they weren't albinos Lol.

Yeah. I'm thinking I might end up having to go with a private breeder. In talks now with Don Cherry at Cherryville Farms. I've heard good things about his outfit.

Good Call! That's the only way to get what you want. Keep us posted!:)

I would still go to the expo, some smaller outfits don't advertise heavily, or bps are their main sell but they hobby breed some other species. Regardless you can buy some m cheap feeders and have a good time!

Yeah, I'm still gonna go. I've got plenty of feeder mice but I might pick up some rat fuzzys for a change of pace. I'll also be looking for cool hides, background paper, and some new tongs for the new addition. I've also never been to a reptile expo so I want to see what it's like. I also pre-paid for the ticket, not that $12 is a big deal. Probably gonna cost me that much in gas :)

If you need any breed of Ball, you will for sure find it there. Never seen so many in one place ever.

Couldn't agree more Big T. All I saw was ball python morphs, a few boas and a couple of hoggies. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of diversity.

It really depends on the size of the expo, and time of year... but you are always guaranteed to see bps lol. How big was the show?

It wasn't a very big show at all. Time for plan B. Gonna check kingsnake.com and a few private breeders and hopefully I'll get everything squared away this week!

Yep. Went in November also and noticed a good deal of vendors was different. Pretty much the same result though. 80% BP morphs. I did see a vendor in the middle section with a variety of Kings that I liked a lot. The one in the back with the stuffed animals 2 for 1 was the top dog at that show I think. LOL!!! No, seriously, I bought 2 giant snakes off of him.

Ziggy,
The January show usually has the smallest vendor turnout. The summer and fall shows have way more vendors and more variety. I have been to all of them multiple times. The winter is the last one I would attend. If your bored and wanna get out its still a great time? Also, I used to attend the South Eastern reptile and exotic shows that were held at the Cobb Gallaeria all thru the 90's and early 2000's. Man I miss those!

Colubrid vendors are few and far between at the Atlanta shows. There usually are a couple guys with tables but they are NOT breeders and more or less just offer odds and ends. I highly doubt you will find either of what your looking for.

Don't let me discourage you from going if you really have your heart set on it. I can't imagine a better way of spending a cold or rainy winter Saturday with nothing better to do. Currently, I live in Sharpsburg which is a HAUL up to gwinette county fairgrounds.

You should order exactly what you want from a reputable online breeder if you really have your heart set on a snow hondo, or an patternless albino bull. Why settle for less than what you really want? I hope you eventually find find what your looking for! Let us know how the show turns out!

You're right Rage, There wasn't much at the winter show. I didn't find the patternless bull I was looking for but I did come across a beautiful albino bull that I'm committing to today. Getting her from Jason Nelson at Envy Reptiles. He has some beautiful bull snakes and seems like a really nice guy. The new addition should be here by Thursday! I'm super excited to say the least. I ordered a few more hides, some new feeding tongs and an IR temp gun from Amazon today so I should be good to go. Unfortunately a few days ago the power went out at my girlfriend's mothers place where I was keeping most of my frozen mice. She has a huge deep freezer. Now I've got to place a new feeder order. There goes $100 down the drain. Her mom was in the hospital and we didn't know the power was out until it was too late. Luckily, I still have about a months worth of feeders in my own freezer. Oh well, gotta take the bitter with the sweet sometimes. Onward and upward!

How long was the freezer out? If it stayed shut I would think the fees would still be fine. ..?

We're pretty sure the power went out on Saturday. My girlfriend went by the house on Monday. She said there was enough of a smell in the freezer that we didn't want to take any chances. All the human and snake food got tossed out. Bummer :(

Not sure of her exact size athms. I'm told she's eating f/t fuzzys and small hoppers and was hatched in Sep. I'll weigh her once I get her. Still thinking of a name for her too :)
