This morning I sadly lost my little girl Bella. She was my veiled chameleon, she was sadly not even a year old when she passed away today. I am look for some advice to what I can do with her body till the spring because that is when I'll be able to bury her. I currently have her in a body wrapped up in a red bandanna laying on her side in a box but I am not sure what my options are to keep her remains from composing before I am able to put her to rest. I am also trying to see my options for a new little family member for me and my little family when I am ready for a new little one.. Do you guys have any idea where a good place or who a good breeder is in Ottawa that could help me out? :)

Freezer her, sorry for your loss. Maybe she died from being egg bound?

Awww :sorry:, my condolences, it is hard to loose even the smallest of loved ones. Keeping her in the freezer til spring will conserve her body.

She never did lay her false eggs before but she also still a juvenile, so I am not too sure. Also thank you everyone, means a lot. <3

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I used to breed and keep chameleons for awhile; they are really amazing animals but require a lot of work. If and when you decide you'd like to get another chameleon, i would try very hard to get a male (they can be sexed right from hatch) as you will not have to deal with any reproductive issues, they grow larger, and are more colorful than the females. There are some pretty knowledgeable chameleon forums out there who can help you make adjustments to your husbandry if needed.
As others have said, Tightly wrapped in a paper towel and plastic wrap is the best way to preserve her remains until spring.
