Hey everybody, I hope the holidays were good to everyone! Does anybody have any recommendations or reviews of Reptile shows in the area? I would like to attend one or more this year and have been researching some. Thanks!

The two closest are the New England Reptile Expo in Manchester, NH ( next one is on January 26th) and the Massachusetts Reptile Expo, which has been in Brockton, Ma the past couple of times :)

Then there is the White Plains Expo in New York, which would be a 4 hour drive for me where I live in Massachusetts...

I'm going to white plains next week. I wouldn't drive if its going to take you 4 hours, its not worth it. Your like 1/1.5 hours away from me so It'd be 3 and a half to the show. NH isn't great from what I've heard, but probably the same as WP. The closest show which is actually really good is hamburg, which is not close at all :P

The only reason IMO to go to the show is if your bored or meeting someone. Honestly, everything can be bought online these days for basically the same prices and if its important to you (which it should be), you can shop around online for an animal that you know the history of, and the breeder. At expos people just grab an animal and forget who the vendor was, not knowing anything about it. Supplies can probably be found cheaper online too.

I second and third that,

but I still go to my local shows including Repticon just to look around, I have never found awesome deals except I do save in shipping sometimes.

But I do like to look and hold the animal before I purchase it.

I have never been to either the NE expo or the MA expo.. but I grew up in Franklin and only recently moved to Bellingham.

I do plan on attending one some day for the experience, but I also do most of my purchasing online. Only benefit I could see from the expos would be for larger items to cut out shipping costs.

Even though they're small shows, I love going to both the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Expos...I always seem to find a new Kenyan Sand Boa or two every time I go, plus I have some great friends that vend and also attend both shows:)

I dont own any animals yet and my experience is limited, so I really want to go to meet people, ask questions and am just curious to see different animals in person so I think I will venture up to NH if the weather permits.
