I rescued a female boa about a week ago, she was in not great health. Besides having multiple white spots due to bad sheds she also had about 4 areas where she had been burned by the heat rock the previous owner had in her tank.

So far I have treated all of the burns and they are showing signs of healing as well as soaking her for about an hour every day to get some moisture into her body so her next shed will go well.

She doesn't have the greatest markings or colors but in my opinion she is still a beautiful snake. She was being fed on large mice which is just terrible seeing as she is an adult so in addition to treating her wounds and trying to correct her shedding issue I am also getting her to put on some weight for me. Yesterday she took a large rat which made me happy. I will post pics once my camera is up and running. Thanks for reading :-)

Thanks everyone for the kind words. To be honest I am not exactly sure of the gender just yet. She isn't really cooperating with me on the probing.

Yeah she is doing really well. She is very curious and mellow. Very easy snake to fall in love with :-)

Agreed. I feel like even though they don't have a very complex brain they are more appreciative of a nice home. I could just be personifying though which is something I often do. haha.

UPDATE- What is the standard healing time for burn blisters treated with antiseptic spray and triple antibiotic ointment?
