I keep my baby gray rat snake in a moderately large sterilite tub(I think it's like 58 quarts) with a good bit of furniture. One of which is a toilet paper roll suspended on a wire that runs across the enclosure. I got the idea from this thread (http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/general-enclosure-discussion/96502-diy-snake-enrichment.html), and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Incidentally, I've noticed some interesting behavior from him. After every meal, he will climb up into the suspended toilet paper roll and spend the night there. The next day, he will go back to hiding under one of the other hides on the bottom of the tub. It's pretty peculiar, but also pretty cool.

I'd probably never spend my money on furniture for baby snakes. They're comfortable with things like paper towel tubes for hides. If they poop on them, you can just throw them away without worrying about how much money you spent on them. I think really nice furniture is for an animal you're going to display. You can't really watch a 12 inch snake. Well, they'd probably rather you didn't, at least.
