This is Reeces. My chocolate and tan buck with a band. He is the tamest little mouse. I didn't have to work at all to tame him. He was just naturally tame. He is the half-brother/uncle to Ritz, Rolo and Triona (2nd). I'm not sure if he is the full brother or half-brother of Aeira and Nemo. (two litters were born at the exact same time)

This is Ritz. My BEW buck. He is becoming tame. I'm thinking I'm going to keep him too.
I couldn't get him to turn around... Its a nice picture of his bum?.... I guess...? lol..

This is Rolo. My long hair pied black buck. He's not as tame as Reeces, but I'm keeping him because I like his floofiness.

Here is the new Triona.. She is named after her mother who I still miss dearly.... :/
I believe Triona (2nd) is a lavender? or lilac? banded doe.

Here is Nemo. Named such because her left ear is tiny and notched... she was born like this. She's the runt of the litter... I didn't expect her to live to begin with, but she did. She will always be a pet.

Well mine aren't feeders actually. I started off with pet mice. I breed them with goals in mind, and my snake and cats eat the ones I cull. I hope to one day get show quality mice so I can start show breeding. For now I'm just trying to improve the mice I have.

Mice make great pets though, if socialized properly. :)

Ive always loved mice, a cousin had pet mice when I was a kid and ever since I was hooked. I do breed for feeding supplement ( no where near the scale to fully support my collection yet) but I figure IF Im breeding, I might as well try to make the prettiest lil meals I can right? I often find myself questioning.. hmm do I think that pinky might turn out to be something special, :P ... Alas some do need to go to the waiting mouths, others to the freezer but I hold back anything that shows * promise* I wish the rats grew as fast as the mice though...

I'm not as fond of rats as I am mice. Hence why I don't breed rats. I'm fine with just my girl and my neutered boy rat. :)

I have mice that I breed specifically for feeding my snake and cats, but sometimes I will pick a mouse or two out of their litters to keep. Then I have other mice that I breed with my goals in mind and whichever babies that I don't need as a breeder (and if they don't appeal to me as a pet) I cull for feeders.

I feed the cats f/t. They play with them still, but it doesn't harm the mice that way.

I am currently playing around with breeding colors. Tried the white feeders for simplicity but they were all cannibalistic...have a few different fancies now including a sweet brindle...waiting on some litters currently :) I know they are for feeders, but I can have fun while I'm at it... :D

They are typically more likely to be fertile if you breed them before they become obese.. so around 12 weeks. Brindles easily become obese.

I've never been a big fan of rodents but those are some cute little mice :). Is it really ok to feed my cat f/t mice? Isn't that kinda messy? Since my Cal King is on a fast right now I could put those extra mice to good use.

It is okay and it is very healthy to feed mice to cats. It isn't messey, though you do have to cut up the mice when you get your cat started off. Some cats will accept mice easily and others are difficult to get them to eat them.
