Why does she does this?

I walked by and saw her doing this and it was so weird... She's never done it before. I snapped a couple pictures and when she saw me she put her head down and looked at me like I was crazy. It's feeding day in about 36 hours for her so maybe that's why she's waiting?

Carpet Pythons do this a lot if you take them outside onto grass,they periscope to see whats going on...

When I used lights, my boa would do the same. I guess the light intrigues them? Since she looked at you and moved out of position, I doubt it's an issue. I would say it's normal and not to worry. :)

She was doing it again today and I fed her this evening. She eats every Sunday so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what she was waiting for! She's a voracious girl so she'd probably be pretty miffed if I didn't feed her on time.

It is snake yoga. She is working on her breathing.

It could be her just scanning her environment. I think it is so cool when snakes periscope.
