Hi Folks,
Just testing again...
You should see a pic of my all-time favourite North American colubrid, the Trans-Pecos Rat Snake (Bogertophis subocularis).
This was an old picture from the "archives" of my large male.
Thanks for your patience!
Please let me know if you can see the pic.

Thanks Simon!
I appreciate the comment about my suboc. They are just fantastic-looking snakes, in my humble opinion.
Also appreciated is the link to the pic host...I'll give that one a try. It's hard to find one that's compatible with my webtv system.
Very annoying.

Thanks for the help.

Simon,
I tried using imagestation, but it was not compatible. Thanks for trying!
I found another one which may work...
Here we go again. This time you should see one of my Spilotes enjoying a meal...

Simon, I use Imagestation too. I didn't know they allowed posting to other sites? I always thought they only allowed onsite veiwing? Hmmmm.... thanks for the info!!!

Ace,
Actually the pic, if you can see it, was hosted by InkFrog.com. It's hard to find a host compatible with my webtv system. I tried ImageStation and it didn't work for me.
So I take it that you are able to view the pic?

Simon,
I take it that you're going to the Toronto show?
I'll be there for a little while in the morning.
It will be interesting to see what you've got coming next week, :o)

Take care,

I love the Trans-Pecos! For some little time now I've wanted to get a pair and name them Bogie and Bacall.

Thanks for sharing those great pics and I'm glad you found a picture host that works with your webtv so you can share more of them.

Thank you very much for the kind words, "eyespy".
Here, then, is another old pic of a female suboc from an odd angle...
The eyes on these snakes are incredible.

And...here's a pic that I've always liked; some of my first ever clutch of Trans-Pecos Rat Snakes hatching back in '96.
The babies are large, feisty (but they calm down very quickly), and they start feeding very easily.
These beautiful and gentle serpents are "criminally" under-appreciated here in Canada.

Thanks for looking

Those pics just melted my heart. Rats of any kind are underappreciated here in PA, where only big boids get respect, so much so that they are illegal in many cities. But just look at those amazing eyes, the great coloration, the wonderful head shape.

Thanks so much for the great pics, I really appreciate the eye shot!

I'm glad that you enjoyed the pics, Eyespy.
Is there any North American colubrid more distinctive than B. subocularis?...I think not!
VERY difficult to find them here in Canada. I have another pair coming up from the U.S. with a friend's order. (I should mention that I no longer have my original colony. I sold them, and most of my collection about three years ago. I've been kicking myself ever since, LOL!).

Cheers!

Who is the breeder your subocs are coming from, if I may ask? Just for future reference, I'm going to be a good girl and not add to my herp collection until quarantines are over for the animals I already have.

The suboc's are gorgeous, but I think the Senticolis genus is really underapreciated.

Well, if we're talking about underappreciated colubrids, I vote for Masticophis...

Well, Eyespy... I actually don't know EXACTLY where my subocs are coming from, but I do know that they were procured for me by Steve Hammack, and are being piggy-backed on my friend's actual order from Steve.

Katt...I agree with you, some Senticolis are really fine-looking snakes. Id definitely like to see some nice, greeny ones brought up here.

J_Riley...Yes, Masticophis are underappreciated, but I do happen to know someone who just got a pair of captive-bred, proven breeders of the "red phase" Western Coach-Whip. Apparently, this pair are not even aggressive, unlike the stereotypical Coach-Whips.
I can't wait to see the babies!

Whoa, I think Vanan and I would be down for a baby or two of some nice CB coach whips. Who is this person?

Hi Katt,
I hate to sound secretive, but I'm unable to say at the present time.

Humble apologies,

Lisa,
Thanks for the comments.
Yes, ssnakess.com photo hosting seems to be incompatible with my webtv.
I'm using InkFrog.com.

Maybe jeff can leave some feed back to the creators of vBulletin to get that fixed.
