Thanks guys, if you belong to any other forum, post it!
From what I have read, another user on here just posted it actually. Retics along with every Annie you can get, is up next and they are talking about boas from there. Need to get the word out on this!

This is poisons post

It just says, the boa constrictor but that I'm sure won't take long for it to go to any other form of boa or python.

I believe it is the boa constrictor genus that is being considered. Which includes all subspecies. Could be wrong though.

in many places they already do... You cant throw a stone down here where i live and find an apartment willing to let you have pit bulls, pit mixes, shepards, rotties, etc.
(i think were good on the cats so far though ;) )
While i PERSONALLY do not and will not ever keep a giant, i support others rights to breed, buy, and keep them RESPONSIBLY.
any idiot with money can go out and buy a horse or a sportscar, most of the people buying these giants know what they are getting into and are doing so responsibly and safely. :/

Signed! I'm freaking out about this, I'm terrified about the fact there's only 736 signatures and we have to make it to 100,000. Anyone know if we lose when this would go into affect? I still need a male pure jampea, and I'm supposed to send my male kalatoa back to Travis kubes in exchange one without a knob tail.

I do belive that there should be some sort of permit needed to keep these big snakes. The lacey act seems point less at this point. There are still plenty of giants in each state and anybody can still purchase them (at least in most states). The lacey act will mainley affect people who are into morphs I would think? Other then indian pythons and some anacondas, most states have plenty of the more common big snakes to go around.

that would be a landlord decision, not a government one, though...I do know there are a few insurance companies that will not cover someone if they have any of those breeds, either, so the landlords may be facing that issue...but its not outlawed..yet...i know many ppl that do have pitts and they are the most wonderful animals...same with most rotties i have met, with the exception of my neighbor's (theirs attacked my son and ripped his leg to shreds..42 stitches, crutches, and missed half a season of baseball)...but I still don't think they should be outlawed..

I wish they would just enact a permit system, I've got no problem having someone come round to check to see if I'm housing/caring for my retics properly. I have to ask what happened to the right of "the pursuit of happiness"? And I don't even have giants I've got a dwarf and 2 super dwarves. Its not fair. Sorry for the venting, I've known this was coming just hoped I'd have what I wanted before it happened.
So, anybody know when the law would go into effect if we lose the war?

Ok so my girlfriend tried to sign the petition, it says thanks for signing shows the number after her signing, but it never registers. It reverts back to 1 less a soon as I navigate away. Anyone else experiencing these problems? Who do I contact about this?
is this the act about not being able to ship large snakes?

Isn't this the same thing that's been going on since August or September? Or are they trying to pass the law again? Iirc the laws adding the snake species (all of them: boa constrictors, retic, anacondas) were voted out, and they've just been having extensions for CatEx since then.
