I just got a baby ball python and I'm super overly protective. My boyfriend placed him on our fire mantel even though I told him not to and he fell, it's about a 4 foot drop on to hardwood flooring. I am freaking out because I don't know if he's hurt. He is slithering around fine and wrapping around my hand without and issue but I read that they can break their jaws or backs. How can I tell if something is wrong?! ): I'm so worried that something is wrong with him.

If it's acting normal it is probably fine. If the back wad broken it wouldn't move properly.

this

imo such a short fall would'nt do any damage

re his jaws
feed him and after he eats that will put your mind at rest regards any jaw problems

cheers shaun

I suspect that they fall a bit in the wild as well so if he's acting fine, he probably is; the snake that is - I can't speak for your boyfriend.
