ok last 2 for now. this was just for the pictures they are not kept like this. but this is delilah and my praying manits Jerry (who sadly past away this weekend at the ripe old age of 11 months  ) but it was funny to see them interact. delilah didnt even notice him, while jerry was very cautious and always kept an eye on her. again this was for 10-15 mins and i was sitting there the whole time.

JWFugle
12-11-13, 11:11 AM
thanks all, shes been so great to have.

i weighted her last week at 4lbs 13oz. or 2182.91 grams
and her last shed was about 7ft 3in. or 220 cm.

JWFugle
02-23-14, 04:09 PM
this happened about a month ago but i got to watch her shed from the start. it started out so well but then it just went to hell as you can see in the 3rd 4th ones  i was away for two weeks and she went into blue just as i left, she normally has great 1-3 piece sheds. this one was about a 100... i let her try for a day or two and then i stepped in and soaked her in some luke warm water and made sure it all got off.

:freakedout: but man does she shine after a fresh shed

she is a little over a year and a half old, and is almost at 8ft. and shes about 5lbs

she rarely sits still to get a good measurement. i usually estimate off recent sheds. shes in blue right now so should hopefully get some new measurements then.

The average door is 6,6 feet in hight, with that picture hanging on the door-handle i can't Imagen her being much longer.

no i got her at the "Scott's all animal expo" in Weaton IL, from a family who breeds them, the mother was definitely the more enthusiastic about her breeding haha.

well to be fair i did say estimate and guess off sheds :wacky: but yea she isnt quite that 8ft. but i had her out this past weekend and she was cruising over my bed(6'6") and she had body left on each end and wasnt exactly pulled straight ;P so a more accurate guess would be around 7ft not that i think she has made that big a growth but the door pics were early january, just lazy about putting them up :)

thanks for the compliments and comments

well she just shed again(perfect shed too :D ) so heres just a few i snapped of her shed with a measuring tape next to it and her.

1yr 9 mo's old

estimated 8ft 6in (based on shed)
weight 2758g
6lbs 1.3oz

shes eating a large rat every 7-9 days

super happy with her she is so calm and chill with me. cant wait till summer to get her outside more

here are some older pics(late Nov. '13) i found on my pc of my 87 year old grandma and my mom holding delilah. my Gramma has no fear i swear, she lifted delilah right out of my hands and draped her across her shoulders and started telling the snake how pretty it was haha.

:suspicious: still cant get pictures to come in correctly, even tried saving the image in different positions. any help?

couldnt agree more, i got my first corns when i was 11(12 years ago) and my mom was very anti snakes but since she has grown to love them and actually confiscated my corns and told me to get my own haha, she loves sitting in the living room watching and feeding them

JWFugle
05-28-14, 08:19 PM
so right around dusk she will get really active and moving around and pushing on the glass and basically beg me to let her out... and this is all she does..

dosnt go crawl around the room or explore every nook and cranny.. she just goes there and watches me...

and the other one was just a funny picture, as stupid as the song is, it makes for a good caption

If she's almost 8 foot, you may want to upgrade the size of that tank, it's to small if she is that big

millertime89
05-29-14, 03:24 PM
Looks like a 3x2. If the snake is happy in there and has room to stretch (look how tall it is) then it is fine. It's all about the snake's needs, not what we perceive they need. My blonde should be in a bigger viv based on her size, but she becomes a vile tempered beast whenever she is upgraded too soon and she lets you know, so we keep her in a cage that is a bit small for her size because she seems more comfortable and secure in it. (She's 10ft and in a 4x2.

yea i hear you. i was looking into upgrading her cage. this boaphile can have another boaphile of same specs bolted right on to the side to double the cage size. however thats about 500-600$ and with all the problems contacting them and time to deliver im am working with Marcus and planning out a full size cage build.

she is active and uses the space but i also let her out almost daily. i open the cage door and if she wants to come out and stretch she does. and i take her outside regularly when i can, to get some sun and move around.

i was waiting for someone to comment on the cage to snake size ;) its being worked on and dealt with

its been a long while since ive put up any pics of my girl. shes very un-photogenic haha. best guess is about 9ft, just had a full shed that measured 11.2ft

JWFugle
11-08-14, 01:50 PM
also as many of you suggest i purchased a new cage, AP T70, large cage for her size yes but it lets me make it more of a display cage than just another tub.

*water bowl was taken out at the moment fills in that open left side.
cage holds humidity extremely well, i regularly have to open it up and wipe off the water building up on the walls and ceiling.

as requested here are some more of the cage. its hard to get a good full view pic and i only have a cellphone. i have organic soil and mulch laid in there about 2-3in deep with pill bugs and other decomposes that came with the leaf litter i put in. logs were found along a river(amazing place for good stuff BTW). i have a reptile basics 160w RHP directly over where she is, along with 2 rows of 11in flexwatt going under 3/4 of the cage(house is cold) then just a normal tub for water which i keep low so keep the humidity from going to crazy. and the lights are a LED strip with a remote control that can change colors and all kinds of fun stuff, snake doesnt care so i change it up as i feel.

thanks for all the compliments, shes a big part of my life

that would be sweet, but yea id be scared to see that price tag even more so the shipping bill haha. the glass would be your biggest issue, each piece of glass in mine weighs close to 40lbs! youd need to frame the glass and put it on rollers

yea she has lots of room thats for sure. Yea i really want to but im not sure how to go about it, just b/c of her power, that root/tree i have in there is close to 50lbs and she will push it around once in a while. so idk how to mount up some branches in there. any ideas?

Boa Master.com make a 8'x3' x30" cage. 8ft tall (http://www.boamaster.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_9&product_id=3)

and now they started making a ten foot cage. 10'x 4'x 30"
10ft (http://www.boamaster.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=1_9&product_id=2)

Yeah you definitely want any branches well secured. I'd personally find a section of a tree that is the size/shape you want and put a few screws through the wall into the log/tree. You could run a couple, at a different heights, the entire length or find something that will branch down from one side... How ever you do it make sure it's secure.

Chuck, I considered the boamaster cages at one point but have decided against melamine in favor of plastic. It's just more permanent when the bottom gets filled with a gallon of Reticulated python piss. One scratch and the wood could swell.

They do, the exact cages chuck mentioned are the melamine line, the pvc 6' and 8' cages are only 2' wide and 14" tall. I'm going for 2.5' minimum and wanting to do 3-4' high.. 2' high minimum; I want to give them the climbing space. The dwarves and super dwarves just want to climb all the time.

Right now I'm thinking a custom animal plastics cage 6x2.5x4, but its expensive. I'm definitely getting my pure kalatoa female a 4x2.5x4

good luck on getting that cage, Id love to see it. that sliding glass will be your biggest issue, needs to be put on rollers or something its just so heavy.

Delilah is probably a realistic 8ft maybe 9... shes so hard to measure, i try to get pictures of her to compare or measure but never turns out right or the little brat wont sit still :P i used to measure her sheds but i quickly learned how stretched out and off those are. i can hold her over my head at 8ft and she is still comfortably wrapped around my hand and still on the floor.

but yea i know what you mean about climbing. she will regularly climb up the wall and onto my clothes hangers or up door frames... its crazy how active and height seeking they can be.

I'm planning on getting cages with more climbing room for my tics this year

well i went out exploring this past weekend and got some new logs and changed the fit of some old ones. the camera dosnt make it look as cool but it looks real good in person.

any tips on getting the half logged(that is hollow on the back) to stick to the back wall? i was thinking screws from outside to the log but worry about them going to far and sticking out or cracking the log. she quickly pulled it down off the back wall so i removed it for now. gonna try filling it with "great stuff" pond edition and some smaller screws into the foam???? idk

I would drill a whole into the wood and the cage and use a bolt to secure it. You can counter sink the bolt so it doesn't stick out by using a drill bit slightly larger than the bolt head so you can still get a socket on it and only go a tad deeper than the thickness of the bolt head.
