Cleaning Day took a little longer than expected. I noticed a couple of snakes in Blue this weekend; namely Poseidon and Hellboy. I also noticed several continuing little issues with some of my snakes. First off, Popeye and Arwen, both Dums, are regular "Oscar Madisons" when it comes to destroying their tubs. My guess is that I will have to ratchet up the frequency on cleaning their tubs. I already need to do that with the entire rack next to my bed. Also, Medusa and Black Betty are already on a "as needed" basis with their cage cleanings. It's funny. Medusa, as soon as her T25 gets all nice and clean, overnight, she will pass last week's rabbit. What's up with that? Betty, I have done at least 3 times this past week and Medusa, I have done about 4. It's all good though because with each cage cleaning is a handling opportunity and that helps to make things really fun for me, even if it is a challenge to hold a 8-9' snake on me while I clean their cages. Medusa specifically wants to go exploring through all the crevices she can poke her head into. This morning, I only have the adult Corns to do because I shut down early last night. Actually Hellboy and Stheno are done now and all I have left to do is Khorne and Frost. I love snakes!

The title of the thread caught my eye, because I too was cleaning cages this morning. I had to feed and clean the venomous cages this morning and I thank God when I'm done that no one bites me. Most of my venomous are very tame, but others like the Black & White Spitting Cobra are not. This morning I got a face full of venom from him as I was transferring him to his holding tank, good thing I was wearing my full face shield at the time. But there is no better feeling when you are done and have clean enclosures and snakes with full bellies.

Very cool! You're right. There is no better feeling. My snakes' bellies will be full this afternoon...

...well, the weekly eaters anyway. ;) Feeding report to come later this afternoon.
