if you think hes doin fine,.....why should you,....some dont know nuttin about your snake !
It can't hurt to take it to the vet. Sometimes an animal appears to be doing fine for so long and then all of the sudden something happens. As long as the vet is knowledgable I would do it.

Did you do your research about vets in your area tha have knowledge about the snaek before you got the snake?
Anytime you pruchase a reptile, make sure you have a vet that can handle any ailment the reptile might come down with.
When I get a new snake, especially pythons, I take it to a vet for a checkup. THis is for the benefit of the snake. It allows you to get a clean bill of health and it also familarizes the vet with your snake.

It's always great to take a new pet (of whatever species) to the vet. You can spend as much or as little as you'd like on assuring your purchase is healthy. Any exam with an experienced herp vet will come with lots of general advice, tips on care, and signs of illness to watch out for. An exam though only inspects the external animal. I would recommend bringing in a fresh stool sample as well (fairly cheap test for internal parasites). General health bloodwork gives indications on organ and metabolism functions. Some people (like breeders with high $ breeding stock) routine do all of the above. Are they all necessary on a healthy looking snake? That's for you to answer.
