Mellik's mamma
11-16-13, 10:35 AM
Hi,
I just wanted to introduce myself. I literally just joined. My "child" is a ball python (royal python). I have always loved snakes and used to catch them as a child (i would always let them go or they would let themselves go). Now, thanks to helping out a friend I OWN MY OWN!! Trying to learn as much as I can to make sure I am a good owner. Honestly, I feel a bit guilty for OWNING something, but Mellik also owns me. The previous owners said it was a boy (but I get feelings that it is a girl) and now they told me they really are not sure! Any suggestions on how to find out on my own and not stress Mellik out? I would take him/her to a vet or at least have one lined up just in case, but I know that can be very stressful as well (any hints on how to make that not so stressful for Mellik? And also sign that they actually know snakes..)
I will admit, I bought Mellik thinking I was already knowledgeable, but I am realizing I still have a lot of questions that will be answered in time (I mostly mean Mellik's own habits. I have all the basics covered. (any good, trustworthy book?) Don't worry, Mellik is a happy and healthy snake, but I want to know EVERYTHING to ensure the best life ever.
Thanks everyone and HELLO!!!
